A Dark Friend

For a close friend I've recently met. This friend has certainly inspired me.

I've walked this road,
Forever alone,

Not a soul in sight,
Except my own,

Yet mine is frightening,
It scares me so,

But I met a friend,
Who is dark as below,

Her name was holly,
She took joy in my words,

Even though the words were,
Dark and full of pain,

She spoke words herself,
Nearly as dreadful,

Yet a song was within them,
She was also a rebel,

She has inspired me,
To embrace the dark,

To give in,
To make a mark,

And for that I am grateful,
No longer are these words so painful,
