Impossible

Impossible

A Poem by Dorian

You say, these ropes between us are unbreakable
I have a sword.

You say, I don't understand you
I've read all the books in your library.

You say, I don't value you enough
I just think about you all the time.

You say, I don't make time for you
You don't call if I don't.

But I understand,
You just don't want me.
I'll never be good enough for a heart doesn't have a beat for me.

Hiiii!!! I like how you ended this poem on a real note, that she wasn't that interested. But how sad you went through so much because of it!! I can understand not being good enough for someone. So you have a kindred friend here that's in the same boat.

This is heartbreaking for sure. Thank you for your comment.
Gosh! Here I am drawn to this same poem!

I have felt these emotions many times.

I love your beautiful portrayal of your own feelings.

AND your courage to put them out there.

Hi Dorian, In a return review I'm finding you are explaining something
Maybe I should have learned on my end of the spectrum.
Sometimes things just are not meant to be.
Thanks for sharing.

I accepted some of them with the pain they caused.
Thank you.

You are a good person.
hmmmm, I thought love was a street that ran both ways. And based on mutual respect and equality. I guess I'm just an old silly for believing this. I think Dorian, this person is just looking for someone to be their door mat. And in today's world, there are far too many people like this. Perhaps another library has better and more endearing books??

Nicely written, Dorian

Beautiful poem. You did an amazing job of really conveying the agony of giving your all to someone who is never satisfied. Great work!

Such a well-written piece; the agony of unreciprocated love is suffocating.
Well penned.

Yeah for sure. Thank you!
I've been HERE - right within this place. Even got "Dear John'd" while overseas back in MY day. The emotions we as Poets share aren't contrived, especially when another FEELS that same level of pain and turmoil behind their own eyes as they pause with your thoughts. Thank you for reminding me of OUR relevance.

Take care, Chris
