A Nightmare

Poetry: attempt #2. Inspired by a frightening dream I had last night.

It was nothing but a terrifying dream,

It seems,

That breached and destroyed 

My soul-filling sleep

It was insanity

That I had descended to

Nearly,

And lost was the sleep that I had needed so dearly

My consciousness so bare 

And my body so numb

But no feeling compares

To a nightmare overcome

Author's Note

Until this morning I had forgotten about what may be the best feeling in the world; when you wake up from a nightmare and realize that none of it was real.
