Chapter 5 - Battle

This is the fifth chapter of the book.

        Etsilla, Patricia and the remaining Nartakaturians have spent the next four years preparing for the Eayila system’s inevitable attack training each other. As promised, Amarith helped the group at the end of the bargain for the war. Patricia used that time to exercise her brain by reading books, doing crossword puzzles and solving jigsaw puzzles. With that, Patricia successfully managed to last using her telepathic memory manipulation for a longer duration. As time for the reprieve reached its end, at dusk Patricia and her friends set up a barrier placing tall trees at every exit to the Blue Hills Reservation preventing anyone from coming in or going out. Before the group could even finish their preparations, Wraithon, Telarion, Esparix and their armies had already arrived on Earth. Etsilla, Patricia and the others stared up at the sky and watched their enemies approach them. “Remember everyone we must protect this planet with our lives no matter what.” said Etsilla. “Right!!” said Chetanzi and the others. “Here they come. My God there are so many of them.” said Patricia as she took one last sip of water from her thermos. “Wait Patricia. Pour some of your water onto my stone.” said Etsilla as she pulled out the mura stone in front of Patricia. “Okay what for?” said Patricia as she did what Etsilla said. “Because I have an amazing idea. That army is going to get a lot smaller due to a tremendous thunderstorm.” said Etsilla. At an instant, the mura stone began to glow. Patricia gasped at the sight of the relic and said, “Oh my God. What is that? That really looks like something from a science fiction movie.” “A mighty weapon I took from my father. Now I recommend that you and the others get in the ship to safety.” said Etsilla as she raised the mura stone in the air. Patricia, however, held onto Etsilla’s arm and said, “No you’re not facing them alone. I am with you on this until the end. They’re invading my planet. This is my fight too.” A tear rolled down Etsilla’s cheek and said, “Thank you Patricia. Thank you so much for standing by my side.” “Anytime for my best friend that I love so much.” said Patricia. “I love you too Patricia. Now mura stone destroy the army with your tremendous powers.” said Etsilla. Like an answer from an unknown force, a tremendous cloud surrounded Wraithon, Telarion and Esparix’s armada ships and struck each one down causing them to crash land onto the ground. To help her close friend, Patricia used her telepathic memory manipulation on some of the ship’s pilots to drive them into the ground as well. Even though it was raining, Etsilla and the Nartakaturians were completely unfazed by it. “Wait. I thought that water would hurt you.” said Patricia. “It seems like we don’t have to worry about that.” said Etsilla. “That is great to hear.” said Patricia. “Yeah. Now take that Orvak. That is for my people and especially my mother!” said Etsilla. When it came down to only three ships, Etsilla lowered her arm, and the storm stopped. Patricia and Etsilla both laughed as Wraithon, Telarion and Esparix’s ships landed down on the ground. Etsilla’s siblings instantly jumped out of their ships, landed on the ground and stomped on it as hard as they could. “Etsilla!!! I promise you right here and now that this isn’t over!” said Wraithon as he threw a flash of lightning at Etsilla and the others. “Watch out!!” said Etsilla as she moved Patricia and herself out of the way of the fire. Unfortunately, Chetanzi was struck through the chest causing her to land face-up on the ground. “No…,” said Chetanzi. “Chetanzi!!” said Patricia. Etsilla raced toward Chetanzi and began to shed tears as she watched her friend die. “I remember her saying that her dream was to see other worlds. She got her wish, and I am so happy for her.” said Etsilla as she sniffled her nose and closed Chetanzi’s eyes. “Consider that as part of your punishment for your betrayal.” said Wraithon. Patricia stood in front of Etsilla as she grieved over losing Chetanzi. “What part of this has to do with you, you wretched earthling?” said Telarion. “Etsilla, Telnor and Oryssa. You all stay back. I will take care of them myself.” said Patricia. “Are you sure you can take them? They’re the governors of the Eayila system. They’re the most powerful elementals in the universe.” said Oryssa. “I don’t care how powerful they are. I will stop them right here and now. No one else is dying here tonight except them.” said Patricia. “Look I am going to ask again. What part of this has to do with you?” said Telarion. “This has everything to do with me. You will regret messing with this planet. You are going to wish you never came here. You are dealing with me. Prepare to die.” said Patricia. “That’s it. You have forced us to use our technique we have been saving up until now. This planet is ours! Telarion! Esparix! Let’s do this!” said Wraithon as flashes of lightning appeared on both of his hands and his eyes glowed. Telarion and Esparix’s eyes have also glowed and the elements they represent have flashed in their hands too. “What are they doing?” said Patricia. “They’re combining their elements together for one attack. I’m not sure that the mura stone can stop this. Patricia, get out of the way now!!” said Etsilla. Etsilla gasped as her sibling’s attack formed into a ball of mixed pure elemental energy. “No!! I am not running away. Never again!!” said Patricia. “I admire your courage to face this head on like you did with my fleet. I will make sure to bury you all together when you die.” said Wraithon as he and his sisters launched their attack right at Patricia. Patricia’s eyes glowed purple as she took out both of her hands and placed them in front of her. The lone esper grunted and screamed due to being hit by rocks and sticks from nearby trees being affected by the governors’ epic attack. Etsilla gasped at the sight of the blast slowing down. Patricia screamed louder as the elemental energy stopped no longer than a foot away from her fingertips. “Patricia, you did it! You stopped it!!” said Etsilla. “What?!! How can anyone stop our tri elemental attack? It’s completely flawless!” said Esparix. “The problem here is you completely underestimating your opponents.” said Patricia. “What are you?” said Telarion as she stepped back. “I am an esper. I am your worst nightmare for trying to invade my planet in the first place. This is for Chetanzi!!” said Patricia. “No!!” said Telarion. Wraithon, Telarion, and Esparix began to cry for their lives as Patricia threw their own attack right back at them. The three governors screamed in agony and died from the blast instantly. “It is over. We won.” said Etsilla as she smiled. Patricia looked back at Etsilla and said, “Yes we did.” Patricia’s eyes returned to normal and then she fell onto the ground feeling completely exhausted. Etsilla raced to Patricia and grabbed her from landing on her back. “You did good Patricia. I am so proud of you.” said Etsilla. “I am too.” said Patricia as she stroked Etsilla’s cheek. Patricia and Etsilla held onto each other tightly and kissed. As the pair embraced, Telnor and Oryssa noticed that Amarith ran off into Wraithon’s ship and flew off. “Hey!!” said Telnor. “It’s all right Telnor. Let her go.” said Amarith. And with that, the battle for the Earth ended with victory for Patricia, Etsilla and the remaining survivors of Nartakatur.
