Chapter 2 - Restitution

This is the second chapter of the book.

         Day in and day out, Gordon spent time playing with his new companion Asmodeus. Hearing Asmodeus’ purrs drowned the misery in Gordon’s heart. Unknown to Gordon, Asmodeus was waiting patiently to make her move. After three months of living with her new gracious host, Asmodeus finally went into action. On a dark and windy night, the lone demon changed into her human form. Luckily for her, Gordon was already in bed asleep. All Asmodeus could think of was redeeming herself with Satan as she walked to Gordon’s bedroom. Asmodeus’ expression turned into a devious smile as she sat on Gordon’s bed. The manipulative demon leaned right onto Gordon’s face and placed her forehead onto his. With the intention of making the young man have wet dreams about her Asmodeus could only see Gordon’s nightmares. Seeing the visions made the lone demon gasp at the sight of the brutality. Asmodeus recognized one of them which was a giant blue sea serpent.  Asmodeus said in a quiet whisper, “Why is he having dreams about Leviathan?” As Asmodeus continued to watch the scenery from Gordon’s mind, the screech from the wind ended up waking him. Gordon then gasped as he noticed a Caucasian woman with long straight red hair and red eyes was in his face. “What the hell? Who are you? Get out of my face like that.” said Gordon as he backed up and turned on a lamp. “I’m sorry.” said Asmodeus as she shed a tear. “Sorry won’t get the fear taken out of me that I’m feeling right now. I’m calling the police.” said Gordon as he reached for his cell phone. Asmodeus grabbed his hand and said, “Please don’t. I am your cat, Asmodeus.” “How do I know you are my cat?” said Gordon. “Three months ago, you picked up a cat outside of a police station.” said Asmodeus. “Yes, I did.” said Gordon. “Every day you always begin with eating a breakfast sandwich as well as playing songs on your acoustic guitar. Do I have to tell you more of what I know about you?” said Asmodeus. “Yes.” said Gordon. “You are a full time rideshare driver and always love to boast your happiness with it.” said Asmodeus. “More.” said Gordon. “You also enjoy watching anime, reading manga and playing video games. Must I tell you more?” said Asmodeus. “Okay. I believe you. I still want answers.” said Gordon. “I am one hundred percent sure you do.” said Asmodeus. “Yes. What exactly are you?” said Gordon. “I am a demon cast out from Hell.” said Asmodeus. “A demon? I have been living with a demon this whole time. Why were you cast out from Hell?” said Gordon. “Because I was considering quitting to harvest souls for Lady Satan.” said Asmodeus. “Was that what you were doing before I found you?” said Gordon. “Yes.” said Asmodeus. “This is so much.” said Gordon as he scratched his head. “If you want to kick me out then I will leave if you say the words.” said Asmodeus. “Don’t worry. I won’t do that.” said Gordon. “Really?” said Asmodeus. “Of course. I won’t make my final decision until I know the real Asmodeus. This Asmodeus.” said Gordon as he pointed at Asmodeus. “Thank you. Thank you so much.” said Asmodeus as she hugged Gordon as tight as she could. Gordon screamed for mercy knowing that Asmodeus’ grip was very strong. Asmodeus’ plan of restitution may have failed but she succeeded in having a place to call a home.
