Chapter 3 - The TruthA Chapter by johnub4This is the third chapter of the book.As time progressed for Gordon and Asmodeus, they went from
roommates to close friends and to lovers. He looked at his new relationship as
the best one he ever experienced. Everything seemed to look up for Gordon until
one night. As Gordon slept with Asmodeus, he began to dream but it wasn’t about
something he expected to see. Gordon found himself in a realm where humans and
demons roamed around. He looked up at the sky and noticed that it was as red as
blood. He gasped at the sight of large flying creatures roaming in the air.
There was a large eye gleaming right at Gordon. Like the sky’s horizon the eyes
pupil was red too. It was as if the eye was staring at his soul. Gordon then
looked around and noticed that he was standing at a town with skyscrapers all
around him. He stared at a window that showed him his reflection. Gordon gasped
at the face that stared back at him. That face was not his own. His skin complexion
was darker, and his eyes were black. His clothes had changed too. He was wearing
a shirt and pants made completely out of sackcloth. There was a bull-horned
headdress and a crown of blue flames both on his head. Gordon tried to remove
the crown, but it just magically returned to its place. “That face is quite
familiar. What is this place? Why am I here?” said Gordon. “Hey!” said a voice
coming from afar. Gordon turned around and saw an elderly Caucasian male with a
full head of white hair and a white beard. He was dressed in a white robe. A
lightning bolt was sewed onto the sleeves of his robe. “Who am I? I’m your
friend Zeus. You don’t remember me?” said Zeus. “Zeus? You mean you’re the
Greek god of thunder Zeus?” said Gordon. “Yes. Is there something wrong Hadad?
You’re acting like you just met me for the first time.” said Zeus. “Hadad? My
name is Gordon Stone.” said Gordon. “You are mistaken. You are the great demon
sorcerer Hadad.” said Zeus. “I’ll explain what I mean.” said Gordon. And with
that, Gordon spent the next ten minutes explaining to Zeus. “Oh, I see what you
mean. I forgot to ask why you were trying to remove your crown. You know only
the Devil can remove it.” said Zeus. “When you said Devil then that means that
this place is…,” said Gordon. “Yes. This is Hell.” said Zeus. “I can’t wait for
this dream to end so I can go back in the real world.” said Gordon. “You must
be here for a reason.” said Zeus. “That makes sense.” said Gordon. “Anyway, we
should be going.” said Zeus. “Going where?” said Gordon. “Your celebration
party.” said Zeus. “For…?” said Gordon. “Winning the title of Envy. Part of the
Seven Deadly Sins.” said Zeus. “I see.” said Gordon. “Good. Now when we go, I
recommend not to mention that ‘Gordon Stone’ name at all.” said Zeus. “Got it.”
said Gordon. And with that, Gordon and Zeus headed over to a building that
heavily resembled a ballroom. The ballroom was crowded with an audience that
cheered for Gordon. Gordon played along and waved to the crowd and gave
gratitude to them for their applause. As the party enjoyed themselves, the
ballroom was invaded by a group of water demons led by one in their human form.
The crowd panicked and ran out of the ballroom. Gordon kept his eyes on their
leader. He quietly gasped as he recognized her face. She was in the form of a young
Hispanic woman who wore a frilly blue dress that matched her hair and eyes. “Do
you recognize her?” said Zeus in a whisper. “Yes. She looks like my ex-fiancé
Sophia.” said Gordon. “Well, her name is Leviathan. She is the mighty sea
serpent. She’s also the runner-up for the latest tournament Lady Satan threw. I
guess that demon is after you for a rematch.” said Zeus. “Hadad!! Come out and
face me coward! I want a rematch, and I want it now!!” said Leviathan. Both
Gordon and Zeus slowly approached Leviathan and her band of followers. “Look
Leviathan. Hadad already beaten you. Accept your defeat.” said Zeus. “Silence!”
said Leviathan as she encased Zeus in a water prison. “So, you’re after me.”
said Gordon. “Yes!! Who do you think I want?” said Leviathan. “Look I will give
you the rematch, but can I have a three-month reprieve.” said Gordon. “Why
should I let you have all that time to relax when we can solve this right now?”
said Leviathan. “Because if you don’t, I will refuse to fight you indefinitely
and the only thing you can do is cause mayhem in Hell. You think Lady Satan
will allow you to do that anyway?” said Gordon. “Fine. You can have your three
months. After that your title will be mine.” said Leviathan as she released
Zeus from his prison and walked out with her group. “Woah. She is so strong I
had no time to react to her movements.” said Zeus. “Tell me about it. Say Zeus,
can you help me train for this fight?” said Gordon. “I sure can. Friends help
each other.” said Zeus. “Thank you.” said Gordon. Gordon left the ballroom and
took the first step in facing the truth behind who he really is. © 2025 johnub4 |
