Chapter 6 - Final Battle

This is the sixth chapter of the book

         Helena and the others worked together to help Alessandro get back onto his feet. “So, I get it that you understand me?” said Ace. “Yes, I do.” said Alessandro. “So, you see why I must do this. Humans must be vanquished.” said Ace. As Alessandro heard what Ace said, he threw his sword at him, hitting him in the chest. “Nice throw Jonathan.” said Natalie. “Yeah. Perfect aim.” said Helena. “So, you’ve refused to join us Alessandro?” said Ace. “What the hell do you think?” said Alesandro. “You have disgraced me Alessandro. I can’t believe that you are my son. I can’t believe that you refused to use that power for the right reasons.” said Ace. “Wait a minute. I though silver kills demons.” said Alessandro. “He must’ve developed a resistance to it.” said Helena. “Also, don’t you ever call me your son again. You and Striga are the disgraces to parenthood. What I’m doing is for the right reasons. I understand what you went through was horrible, but you shouldn’t lump those who had nothing to do with that into it. Humans can change just like we as demons can too. It’s just simply better if demons, humans and witches can commune with each other. Let’s end the bloodshed. It’s useless. Lastly my name is Jonathan.” said Alessandro. “Okay that’s it. I have had enough of your backtalk. You are no son of mine.” said Ace as he pulled out Alessandro’s sword from his chest and threw it on the ground. “And you are no brother of mine.” said Amon. “Let’s fight.” said Alessandro as he rushed into battle. Helena and the witches followed. Unfortunately for Alessandro, he was struck in the head with one of Ace’s spells causing an intense pain in his cranium. “Jonathan, what’s wrong?” said Natalie. “I don’t know. Something’s hurting my head.” said Alessandro. After a few minutes, the pain in Alessandro’s head stopped. Alessandro tried to use one of the abilities he absorbed from his enemies, but it failed. “What’s going on Jonathan?” said Helena. “My powers. I can’t use them.” said Alessandro. Ace laughed and said, “Still don’t know what’s wrong? I’ll f*****g tell you. I have cast my cancellation charm on you. With it you forgotten every spell and every ability you’ve ever knew.” “Try taking him on without your precious plundered abilities.” said Amon as he laughed as loud as he could. As Amon believed that victory was in his grasp, that moment was interrupted by the loud sound of a gunshot. “What was that?” said Sage as she turned around and gasped at Helena. “I thought that he would never shut up.” said Helena as she pointed a loaded shot gun right at Amon. “And I thought that guns would never work on demons.” said Zoe. “Not if they’re not loaded with silver bullets. Not if that demon doesn’t have any resistance to it.” said Helena as lowered her weapon. “You wretched witches. I can’t believe you refused to join our cause.” said Amon as he bled out and fell face down on the ground. Alessandro stood and faced the dying Amon as he crawled over to him. “I’m glad you’re dying. You won’t be able to do this ever again. Go back to Hell where you belong.” said Alessandro as he kicked Amon in the face. Amon breathed his last breath and died. “I apologize Jonathan if you have any feelings about this.” said Helena. “As I said, I’m glad that he’s dead. Now you’re next Ace.” said Alessandro. “You let someone kill your own brother. You let him die. You expect to beat me without your precious abilities?” said Ace. “He was never my brother just like you’re not my father. I don’t need my abilities. I have my coven.” said Alessandro. And with that, Natalie and the others stood in front of Alessandro. “You all make me sick. It’s time I show that I mean business.” said Ace as he hopped out of his wheelchair and transformed into his demon form. Alessandro and the witches gasped as Ace’s demon form was three times their size. Ace roared so loud it sent abandoned vehicles on the bridge flying into the Charles River. “So, this is the most powerful demon in the city.” said Alessandro. “Yes.” said the witches in unison. “How can we beat him?” said Alessandro. “We fight together.” said Natalie. “Yeah.” said Faith. “Right.” said Sage and Zoe. “Ha! Your pathetic powers are nothing against my powers.” said Ace as he flew at the group. “Faith now!!” said Helena. “Right!” said Faith as she attempted to freeze Ace with her time magic. At the same time, Alessandro used his demon strength to throw cars burned with Sage’s elemental magic at Ace. Unfortunately Ace broke free, dodged the attack and charged at Alessandro. Without any time to react, Ace got passed the witches and grabbed onto Alessandro with his claws. Alessandro found himself flying throughout the city in Ace’s grip. “Let go!!” said Alessandro. “If you want me to do that then make me.” said Ace. “I said let go!!” said Alessandro as he growled a mighty roar and his eyes glowed red. With that, Alessandro kicked Ace off him pushing him away. While in the air still, the size of Alessandro’s wings grew even larger. Natalie and the others gasped as they seen Alessandro display his true power. While back on the ground of the bridge, Ace growled and said, “No one kicks me. NO ONE!!” Ace attempted to charge at Alessandro again. Immediately out of nowhere, Ace found himself having his strength absorbed from him. Helena looked and noticed that the conjuring of the spell was coming from Natalie. “Natalie.” said Helena as she smiled again. “NO ONE PUTS THEIR HANDS ON MY BOYFRIEND!!” said Natalie as she approaches Ace and continues to steal his powers. “No!! It can’t be!!” said Ace. “Yes. Your days of terror are over.” said Natalie as she finished plundering Ace’s abilities. With his strength removed, Ace reverted to his human form and fell back on the ground. He landed on his knees. “It can’t be. I couldn’t have lost.” said Ace as he crawled to his wheelchair. Unknown to the battle being over, Alessandro dived down hard after Ace. Natalie ran in front of him and yelled, “Jonathan. Wait. It’s over!! We won!!” Seeing his beloved girlfriend’s face put Alessandro back to his senses making him say, “Natalie!!” With that, Alessandro flexed his wings and landed back down on the ground. He then reverted to his human form. “Jonathan are you alright?” said Natalie. Alessandro took a deep breath and said, “Yes. I am okay. Natalie, I apologize. I almost attacked you. I don’t know who I am.” “I know who you are. You are Jonathan. You are a good demon. If you weren’t then you could’ve killed me to get to Ace.” said Natalie. “Speaking of Ace, what happened? Why is he crawling back to his wheelchair?” said Alessandro. “I absorbed his powers with my plunder ability.” said Natalie. “Oh, you can use plunder too? I’m proud of you.” said Alessandro. At an instant, Alessandro’s eyes glowed and a different voice began to speak to Natalie. The voice said, “My dearest Natalie. It’s your mother.” Natalie embraced the possessed Alessandro and said, “Mom. I miss you.” “I miss you too. You have no idea how proud I am of you that you finally let me go. With that, I must leave your boyfriend’s body.” said Matilda. “Wait mom! Don’t leave me. I need you.” said Natalie. “I am sorry, but I must go. I had the time of my life being in Alessandro’s body. I will be going to where my soul belongs. I will be trusting your life under your boyfriend’s protection now. Goodbye my daughter. It’s not like I will be alone in the afterlife. I will be your father.” said Matilda. “Goodbye Mom. I love you.” said Natalie as she shed a tear. And with that, Alessandro regurgitated Matilda’s soul from his mouth and it jettisoned into the sky. Alessandro’s eyes returned to normal, and he said, “What just happened?” “My mother’s soul just got out of your body.” said Natalie. “Oh, I see. I hope that she finds peace.” said Alessandro. “I’m sure she already did.” said Natalie. “Right.” said Alessandro. As Alessandro and Natalie continued to speak to each other, they were interrupted by a loud growl from Ace. “What the hell do you want?” said Natalie. Now back on his wheelchair, Ace said, “Alessandro you consider yourself lucky this time. I will make sure to kill you and your pathetic girlfriend.” And with that, Ace wheeled himself away in his wheelchair. “Ha!! Bye!!” said Alessandro and the witches as they waved at him. Alessandro then went to pick up his sword, wiped off the blood on it and put it back in its sheath. As Alessandro and the witches celebrated their victory, they found themselves surrounded by a large crowd of humans. “I wonder what they’re going to do now.” said one of the men in the crowd. “Oh, come on. They saved us. They’re heroes just like the Time Guardians.” said a woman in the crowd. And with that, the crowd applauded their heroes. “Come on babe. We should go home.” said Alessandro. “Yes. Let’s go home. I’m beat.” said Natalie. “How about I fly us there?” said Alessandro as he transformed back into his demon form. “Why of course.” said Natalie as Alessandro carried her. “We’ll see you at home. Well done Jonathan and Natalie.” said Helena. “Great work.” said Zoe and the others. And with that, Alessandro flew away with Natalie to take her back to the house. Even if humans looked at him as a monster, Alessandro still fought to protect them.
              Meanwhile back in Hell, in the throne room of the Bloody Palace, Satan sat there by herself. “Well, it seems that my sins have failed me. I can’t feel their presence anywhere on Earth. Even with that, I’ve absorbed more than enough human souls. I’m out of here. The Earth is mine to take.” said Satan as she got out of her seat, left the palace and headed for the front entrance. As Satan headed for the door, demons began to follow her. “Wait for us my lady.” said the demons. “No! Everybody stays here. I am going alone. I will signal you when to come after me.” said Satan as she opened the gate. “Yeah!! Go get them my Lady!” said the flock of demons. “I am going to destroy the Earth and everyone else on it.” said Satan as she laughed.
