Spontaneous prose-Sleep like a mad man

Spontaneous prose-Sleep like a mad man

A Poem by Solitary_Streets
"

Another spontaneous prose piece, hope you all like.

"

My darling...

I contemplated my life

I laughed as she cried

and said

We’re all going to die,

I’m mad and you’re sad,

why feel this way when

emotion in nothing but

a stepping stone towards

a new problem.

Just as I lifted myself up

I ran out

out and about

out on the road

and…

stared

I felt the road

beneath my skin

as I stared and stared

my clockwork life and

desperate pleas disappeared

The midnight oil, rusted through

baked through my half tainted veins

I had a faith in the night

as my eyes caught the flight

Beneath the willows

toward the rivers

an ancient river

I began to feel numb;

Oh what to do now

what to do

what to do

I might as well get all hyped up

and sleep like a mad man.
