Pure As We BeginA Poem by Jessica J
Blank white is the paper that's soon filled with words
A pure white design mixed timidly with thought We taint even a new space, with dark sharp curves Want only expression through each letter birthed. 'F**k you' is vulgarity when really you mean 'Love me'. Attention for your scorched sour dark heart. Please pay me your mind and reach out in vain I'll slap you away, but keep trying to stay Pure as we come in to a world full of words Full of actions and phrases predestined for harm We are all blank slates, clean in our design Pushed through acrid air to stain our condition Blood red sin, carnal man in a shroud We walk straight and hurried, heads constantly bowed Want only to be cleansed of our original unveiling Moving mountains, mustard seed in our midst. What depth has been lost, pure as we come in Words slither and crawl, love me is all we say F**k you and attention shudders in our shame Worldly vision gets you nothing in white designs. © 2025 Jessica J |
