Rattle the CageA Poem by butterfly
Moments of sadness and despair come to rattle the cage
Only to seek solace in the sweet embrace Does the hunt for sex create a needed escape? The walk in the desert can create There has to be something more We should go back to the beginning Back to the days where we learned our names We tried to understand the meaning All we have are these empty flames Filled with sighs and kissing There is still that vital element permanently missing The love that allowed us to feel free That gave us free will Yet still taught us the faith to believe As I sat in my uncomfortable space In the midst of work in a designed grey cubicle cage Something beckoned us to mate We did not hesitate I saw love in his eyes Like a moth to a flame I was blinded by a light Does is shine? I can't make him mine I wish on a thousand stars Whispered his name in the dark I tried to resist but he found a way to my heart Yet we sit mountains apart Another type of despair proves again life isn't fair As a dear Aunt suffers from ALS Is there anything else? Can we get some help? We seek solace in the sweet embrace Some shelter in earths sorrowful rain It feels like winter has seared with its freezing pain All these demons come to rattle the cage I stand strong I stand firm I will hold on No matter how much it can hurt Love conquers the beast It will be patient and kind As it waits for the feast Here I sit watching the sun from the east Wishing for eternal love and peace As we seek solace in the sweet embrace As the winds blow its rage On and on to rattle the cage.
