Intergalactic

Intergalactic

A Poem by butterfly

So much news in the headlines
We are an intergalactic colony just trying to survive
Across oceans there are so many emotions
Lighting up our world like stars
By the pieces of broken hearts
Shimmering starlight of another kind
pieces of gold like those japanese bowls
My girlfriend told me about her cousin who got shot
The owner of Lucky Three Seven got the VIP to heaven
I always wanted to go to this restaurant
He was standing with his son when off went another useless gun
My godmother died of old age
I couldnt say goodbye she was in the Philippines and I live in the USA
She lives in my heart
Thats what happens when we die
The loved ones will miss us
Look at the light from the sky
Lighting up our world
different stars
different hearts
There is a reason for the season
We just dont know
Yet we have to let it all go
Something divine keeps our heads high
We are an intergalactic colony just trying to survive.

I like this piece because it reminds me of our place in the grand scheme of things. We are just a tiny insignificant piece of dust in this endless universe. Yet we love so greater than our place in all things.
