I Belong to no one and no one belongs to me

The dreams that shatter are the ones that dont matter

I sweep the broken pieces on to the dust platter

Relish and celebrate the freedom from a  mad hatter

we were together in wonderland

it still wont last

i keep the memory

i go on fast

forward

Excited for the new

lonely is vibrant mixed with a hue

I learned I want a love that is mine

I never wanted to take from the wife

Our paths crossed and the only way out is through his arms

I fell in love he was a leprechaun full of charms

Now in this month of March

I march on ever strong

there is nothing to regret

nothing to explain

I learned from Shakira we dont break down women get paid

How much longer do we face these suffering days

I also learned I am enough strong always

even as I sweep the broken pieces of this dream

a tear falls from me

with each step i let go

i embrace what so many are looking to find
