The Sound of Freedom

The Sound of Freedom

A Poem by butterfly

Are we lovers because we touch each other
Is there a love for me anywhere
I am drowning in this hunger
So I turn to my father
I have been in the dark for so long
on a tree branch singing this night owl song
who hears
the sound of falling tears
why do we sell children
why do you buy them
what do you buy when you get em
Who told you this was love
who told you when you sneak in the dark ?
foolishly believing no one is seeing especially the one above?
Who will save your soul?
do you want to be saved
I watched the sound of freedom
I cried while the bongos played
I pray to hear it resounding in eternal waves
let the sound be carried, let the song never be buried
ripening your shameful cheeks like cherries
did you forget the lesson of the tale
God's children were never meant to be for sale
God's children are not for sale
I long to meet Elliot Stabler
If only there were more Tim Ballards in the world
Lend that courage to every boy and girl
What makes a lover
Why is the world drowning in this hunger
I turn to the father
I pray
He hears
the sound of all the falling tears
I believe He catches every one
yours and mine
every day and night
but the limits of earth life makes us blind
He should be enough
Yet its that dream love I want
I still pray to find
I go out to the meetups, I meet the ones that call me the best, i give it up for free
I thought there was something in the way he touched me
I am just left here to cry silently
But I remember the sound of the bongo drum
I can only hold on to my faith
As the resounding waves play
I pray can be found by everyone
the sound of freedom
