A Poem by butterfly

On my butterfly wings I travel back in time
to the 80’s
where hearts never lie
and we hold an old friends hand
only waking up to dark and empty
those sweet beats help us move along on what often feels like a desert land
with dry heats and no water
just memories of the days with our sexy summer lover
through it all
through every step and fall
I still reach home
Through every rough part of road
its a gift when so many friends had to run find a new place of hope
where all connected feelings of being a dead ghost

fade away from the human soul

as the sunlight shines bright
I feel God reminds
we are meant to be more than this
Gaza and all
Ukraine, Russia stop your bombs never again let them fall
no human on this life is perfect
don’t let the dark blind you from what is truly worth it
human spirit
the sun still rises
the sun still sets
as the sunlight shines bright
I feel God reminds
with His holy kiss and breath
we are meant to be more than this
the heart forgives
we can forget
remember all humans are imperfect
but we can’t let the dark blind us from what is truly worth it
