Everytime I Close My Eyes

Everytime I Close My Eyes

A Poem by butterfly

I still chase the silence where we met
holding thy phantom thread
beautifully described at the writers cafe
inspiring poet helped me see the moon, the spectral lantern above
in the movie in my mind
though i sit in the light
of the sun
the warmth reminds me of his caress
of love
it didn’t last forever
I had to let him go
he wouldn’t divorce his wife
i can’t continue on this sinful life
still i feel his arms and his embrace
I hear whispers of ghosts
shadows weaving across the blank white page
every time I close my eyes
i pray for the new
but i still love him dear readers
just like Charlotte bronte wrote
but this is not Jane Eyre and he isn’t Rochester
just a blue print of love i wanted to keep
but we dont get forever
its whatever
i still feel us together
with that invisible phantom thread
every time I am in the mood
i lie in my bed
its no good
its not me and him
in those special caresses of love
like an eclipse union of the moon and sun
i have to keep telling myself he isn’t the one
i guess he is happy in stockton with her
while i still feel the burn
the passion reminds inside
the feel of his arms and embrace
every time I close my eyes
