EvergreenA Poem by butterflymy nieces and nephews remembered when I scattered some ashes
for there is no recollection in my own scan of life the children came to remind as we dined on ube mochi waffles and malasadas with tiny gods and goddesses long ago in the woods of cave junction i had to say good bye to my dad and sweet Scruffy German Shepard dog of my past It is still sad to remember now at last one sad function I cant throw loved ones away in the trash I set them free in the wind in the breeze through those wood trees when roses merge from ever green I know the spirits stay with me as they fly free watching as they go up with prayers of forgiveness and love © 2025 butterfly |
