SublimeA Poem by butterflyFor Junie and the like. Sublime StoryDelilah June under an old Alabama moon
Realized together “Wordsworth never spent days preparing food Coleridge didn’t have to sneak around to read a book Those who sought the sublime were white men of lives of leisure They sought an unattainable beauty because they’d already attained everything else” Makes you wonder as 4th of July comes with all the free will to the men we still need help All the birthright citizens suddenly are bums USA in her season, out of order and of good luck are the low income citizens feeling the freedom? As MAGA making her great again seems to come from the fires of hell weaving their own evil spell waving their red flag while the homeless and hungry are left feeling like a crumpled paper bag As I sat in church last Sunday this translated scripture came my way “Be valiant in war and fight the ancient serpent and you shall enter the everlasting kingdom Alleluia” What if we don’t know the Serpent’s face how can we do what this thing say Delilah June born under that old Alabama moon She was born also a slave yet she still was one of the beautiful and the brave The people from MAGA lead by white supremacy Confederacy on the ugly side of humanity and truth Try to rewrite the history in the end we clueless humans dont know what is what However there are writers given the mission to tell a story with love Junie aka Delilah June from the Alabama moon We met in a beautiful book by Erin In one day her story was consumed true or not true inside is the ghost, the voice who the masters leave long buried the winds lift them to be carried as they are resurrected in the stories we tell their voices released from the evil spell if only for a while so they can one day smile under the moonlight, sublime © 2025 butterflyReviews
