Less clever more kindness

A poem I wrote.

Less clever and more kindness is what we need,
an obvious truth if you know where to look.
lamentably the pages are the size of the shadows of the trees
so man cannot really know what can truly be perceived.

More love and less hate is what we need,
a world where we can truly hope dream and believe.
deploringly man has fallen on a system of greed,
a state of nature is what we really need.

Not that law is a horrible creation,
just that it breeds a rueful connotation.
If we really want to get into the heart of what drives man,
pull out a dollar bill and put it in your hand.
