StormA Story by Jason AgainA young woman's husband is out for the night. The storm is terrifying and she is all alone.
She awoke with a gasp. There was an odd sense in the house. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't very stuffy either. Surprisingly, the temperature was just right for her taste. Though her bedroom door was shut and locked tightly, she just couldn't escape the feeling of being watched. It couldn't be. The deadbolt had been set, and the chain lock was in. No one would be out in this storm anyways....would they? Her husband was on duty, so she was stuck by herself to endure the horrible weather. Though she knew she was probably just paranoid from being home alone, she just couldn't drop the fear of being in company she didn't want. The floor was cold as her feet missed her slippers. No time for that, she was just going to run to check the locks and be right back in bed. Of course, they were set just as she had thought. "Why can't I just be asleep like every normal person would be?" she said quietly to herself as she closed and locked her bedroom door. Her safety reassured, she climbed back into bed and drifted immediately to sleep. The next morning her husband came home. His shift was done and he had two days to be with his wife. Of course, it was early so she couldn't have possibly woken up to undo the chain lock, yet. Around he went to the back door...but what was this? It wasn't completely shut. He stepped inside uneasily. He made no noise as he slowly searched the house. Seeing that nothing was disturbed, he simply assumed she had stepped out, and not closed the door all the way upon her return. There was a dripping noise coming from inside the bedroom. Nothing much, just a leak from the storm, that's all. He quietly opened the bedroom door, and there she was. Hanging from the fan, her body sliced all over, blood dripping to the floor. © 2008 Jason AgainAuthor's Note
