Wistful

Wistful

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Taking a moment.

Just sitting.
  Not entirely true.

Still,
I try to steal this moment in time.

Simple moment,
Odors of food wafting through the air.
Music playing softly in the background.

All of this while I sit.

Meanwhile,
part of my nature comes forward,
  wistfully wondering,
why is this not every day?

I do quite enjoy the simplicity, or perhaps the lack of clutter here. A frozen moment paired with a quick glimpse inside the authors mind. Efficient and effective.
