Back to the roots

Back to the roots

A Poem by Jon Roggie

For me,
  lemons.

For most of you
  only a sour fruit.

Family tree proved it wrong.

Tree big enough for a tree house.
Used it to climb to the neighbor's yard.

Sold them around the block,
and to that Circle convenience store.

Teacher drank tea,
  so forget an apple.

For many sour,
  for my family sweet.
