A glance behind the curtain

A glance behind the curtain

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Go ahead.

I don't mind.

Reality over image is more comfortable.
At least for me.

The charades help some accept.

Words spoken with authority,
often lead like bread crumbs in the forest.

Merely a trail formed from transient illusions.

Shine in the beauty of honesty,
warts and all.

If not,
Join the rest of the wizards,
playing their tricks.

Hiding behind the curtains.

nothing like good honest poetry....i do read some poetry that appears flawless, in flow and form, but there is something missing.."a heartbeat"

but you don't hide behind the curtains, Jon..
and visiting your page this morning has been quite a pleasure...as you said in an earlier poem

sort of like visiting family...sometimes we don't get to often enough.
