Moments of desperation

Moments of desperation

A Poem by Jon Roggie

The swagger is only compensation.
Sneer trying to conceal inner loathing.

Many have been there.

Won't deny you your time.

Would like to give a point of reference.

One often repeated,
this time a bathtub in Paris.

I can't separate music from writing. Not always the songs, but the artists. They seem part of life, if not a close friend. Here, the Morrison connection is obvious. I don't think he was desperate at the end, just run down. Makes you wonder what else he could have created.

This makes me think of Morrison of course, who I have actually begun seeing in my dancing girl painting, I wake up in the night and he is watching me sleep. Crazy, lol. Morrison had reason to loathe himself, but she was there for him, in her sad little way we blame her for not calling 911.
