Stepping back for a moment

Stepping back for a moment

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Tell myself to relax.
  Not going to help,
but I will take a breath.

Another disabling injury averted.
   Closer each time.

Panic in the eyes,
added to the confusion already living.

Only able to give support.
   Physical.
     Mental.
       Emotional.

Sleep seems to have come,
  and hopefully,
    a peaceful night.

So,
I step back for a moment.

Try to lose myself by spinning some words.

Momentary respite,
while waiting for the next time.

i think the injury referred to is one of the heart...

and spinning words can keep us feeling somewhat sane and safe...
when we step back and write about it, that staves off some of the pain of the heartbreak...

our emotional bones crack...we have to let them heal.

I can understand your interpretation,
and am glad you could take that view away from this.read more
