The dog knows

The dog knows

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I have been adopted.
Some of you may have experienced this.

She waits in the morning,
knowing I will take her outside.

Looks to me,
  "Really?  That's dinner?"

When the storm comes,
  trembles by my side,
    looking for comfort.

Watches every move.

Knowing.

Some call them pets. They are friends!

-- absolutely... and sometimes better friends than the humans we know... :p
they have such keen sense, often much smarter than we give them credit to being...

and allegorically, we know sometimes that a significant other will take us outside ourselves, give us warmth, comfort, love....take care of those needs...

Amazing how life can duplicate larger issues. She is a good dog.
