Why do you write

Why do you write

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I should keep track of which version of this I am starting.
It still comes back to a simple question.

Why?
I understand the one simple shout,
  and the short continuations.
Now,
  if you still keep writing,
    what drives you?
Each of us has a different story,
and obviously we decided to share.
I don't only look at the words.
I want to know why.

that has always been a most important word for me, especially teaching. I want the students to know "why" they are doing anything in the writing process...if we know why, we can understand the what much better.

You dodged the question, my friend.
the words tumble around in different configurations --
writing them in order is like shuffling the deck and keeping things neat and tidy
if I don't do that, they take up too much brain space to handle the day to day.
