Deception masked by confidenceA Poem by Jon Roggie
Walk into a room,
and you wonder if they know. You are deceit in human form. Your moral compass was bent years ago, and you choose where your passions go. Still, hard to deny you can be convincing. Simple smile, not the showing of the teeth, more casual. One shared among friends. No grabbing the shoulder, you let them give you a hug. Wait for the moment to speak, after hearing their voices. They know you. They trust you. You know them, and you know their needs. It weighs on the mind. You wonder which way to choose.
