Watching without sight

Watching without sight

A Poem by Jon Roggie

I spin my sunglasses.
  Everything a blur.
Walking in a world,
 while feeling disconnected.

I enjoy the choice.

Let me share the reason.

I have very bad eyes.
It wasn't caught.
One doctor said I have stretch marks,
and he was talking about the inside.

The world was unfocused for my first few years.

First pair of glasses,
and I was pointing out things I had been by,
  never seeing them.

Living in a world of new visions,
 while parents felt guilty.

I never felt the reason.

I know how to see.

It doesn't matter if it comes with a blur.

Mom caught the mumps while I was waiting. Probably stunted my growth, and me standing around six foot two.
