If I told a story

If I told a story

A Poem by Jon Roggie

Now,
 the first thing to notice.
Did you listen to my words,
 or my voice?

Easy to get caught up in a rhythm.

Hit on the high points,
 sneaking in a few things.
Don't worry.
You can pay attention to them later.
Longer it takes,
  easier for me.

Now.

Where were we?

best poems create space between reading and meaning....a space we like to fill slowly, let the feeling seep in...the high points can come later...as you say.
