When the presence of Spirit surrounds
the soul, the depth of individual awareness has no choice of free will. When one is in Spirit's presence, every human attachment to the earthly realm, as demonstrated by Jesus in the Garden of Gethsemane is eliminated. It is in the Garden of Gethsemane the Spirit of Christ absorbs the soul of the earth man, who find himself standing in front of The Lynching Tree crying "Father, into thy hand I commend my Spirit." The agonizing experience of the living man of flesh begins to diminish, as the flesh mind acknowledge its has betrayed itself in the outburst; "Eli, Eli, lema sabachthani?" ... ("My God, my God, why have you forsaken me")? ... "Jesus, knowing all things were now accomplished saith, I thirst." Vinegar was offered and received. Jesus said, "It is finished: and he bowed his head and gave up the ghost.” Jn.19.30.
The ordeal of suffering, the sweating of blood alone, and 'The Agony of the broken Heart', begins in the Garden of Gethsemane with those who believe in the man, but not those who see the Christ. "Then said he unto them, my soul is exceedingly sorrowful, even unto death: tarry you here, and watch with me." Feel the moment. Suffer the thought of Jesus' broken heart: Would that he could stay and comfort those whom He touched Spirit to Spirit. Would that He could stay and comfort Himself, He would - but he knew he could not. "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup (of total death to my human will) pass from me; not as I will, but as Thy wilt."
Jesus, the Son of Man, became the message of “the sentence of death” to demonstrate to mankind that all must surrender to their suffering. The agony that comes from relying on their own understanding is the lie of the material world, whose purpose is to void the soul of the evidence of the reality of the Father being the Spirit of life they live. The agony
of shedding human blood to drink the mythical blood of Christ. To cry the tears of the sweat of the blood of compassion flowing from every pore and cell in His flesh body. The flesh body that understands, experimentally, the cost of His sacrifice, His death from the thought of human companionship, in comprehending brotherly love's intent was for one to know they could go through the mind and find the harmony of being One with all creation. The sacrifice
that must eventually be made by all, one relinquishing Soul at a time.
The message of Christ humanly divides mother from son, father from daughter, a friend from friend. It pronounces "the sentence of death" to the human hearts. Again, and again, and again the human heart cries out, as it did in the Garden of Gethsemane, "My Father, if it is possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt.” Only the truly broken-hearted who understand "Sacrifice and offering thou wouldst not, but a body hath thou prepared for me" can grasp it was the human heart's which cried out from its soul: "Eli Eli Lama Sabachthani."
