Pen versus dog (jake)A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)My dog he sits as I write written from his sometimes not often neglected perspective
As my nimble fingers
Weave their words across the screen or be it page and pen I look up to see my scruffy dog Sitting by me in the sun and then Wags his tail Hoping I will notice him now Somehow He needs a walk He demands a talk He knows not what why or when His owner does ignore him so When she sits with rainbow glow Writing of her imaginary world in tow He doesn't see the images wild That are captured in her heart so deep She puts her pen and paper down And hugs him and plays with him again He's on his mission today for her To only see him and no one else His owner with her raging mouse And little curls that bounce and flounce At last she puts her stuff away And will write her magic Some other Day © 2017 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Reviews
