Chocolates

Everyone's favourite subject

God made man
Then
Man made chocolate
With a little help or advice
From God
Thank God for chocolate I pray this today
No I'm not being blasphemous or rude or undermining his power
I'm saying thanks
I thank God for the little joys in life
My dog
My food my shelter my family
And oh I forgot to mention chocolates
Life is like a box of chocolates
I'll compare the friends I've had and lost to a squishy yummy caramello you know the melt in your mouth friend the one that came and went as quick as the wind when the going gets tuff that caramello melted away in my mouth then lingered the taste was sweet for ages but then I had to go clean my teeth an hour later the guey caramel has got stuck in there the sweetness lingered but my friend hadn't stayed she had gone like a will of a wisp
Now take a hard chewy nougat now they are friends that are hard to make but when you have them they are stayers that nougat won't scrub away for days it just sticks to your teeth a friend indeed who sticks around they are hard to find
Then there is the plain chocolate yes plain jane me I'm the plain good old fashioned sweet but plain a little bit boring a little bit shy and steadfast a loner of sorts
Then you have the nut chocolate I will say no more lol nutty as the day it was peeled there is no layer there it's shell has shed it's a smooth nut smooth popular nutty funny happy open to the world everyone wants a nut chocolate a nutty friend very popular people
Then you have the dark chocolate my favourite to eat I keep in fridge have a bit after breakfast every day gets me going a dark chocolate is mysterious almost sensual pensive kind and smooth very nice friend indeed
Then there is the strawberry cream yum so sweet and pretty very popular maybe the most beautiful chocolate of all another nice friend but a stayer no !very popular too popular too many people want the strawberry and creams in this world
Then there's the Turkish delight not my favourite but hey very different mysterious dark and thoughtful yes could be a friend to a Turkish delight
Then there's the mint cream lovely but rather cool taste rather stand offish and distant
What's your favourite chocolate and by the way what sort of chocolate are you ???? That is my question feel free to put in reviews this answer

A fun and original idea for a poem my friend! Yes, "thank God for chocolate" I say too! Great metaphor use for different types of friends. You are no plain jane Miss Julie- you are a chocolate nonpareil star! My favorite? Reese's Peanut Butter Chocolates-yum! Who am I? I'll say Chocolate creams- same on the inside as on the outside- what you see is the friend you get!Absolutely love this poem!

Definitely not! Anyone who can write such a poem is anything but the above. I love the way you've given different chocolates characters an'or personalities. Plus you've added touches of life and love around, the way to feel, to be.. a wiser than wise woman, you.

As for me, I love truffles, those soft, rich centres that just melt slowly ( should be slowly!) in the mouth. I'd give someone the shirt off my bed or Christmas dinner, four courses, than share my box of truffles. Mine.. all mine!
