Old fashioned ballA Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Just dreaming of days of old
The nod of head
The blushing red The curtsy bow The inner glow The shimmer pearls The circled twirls The petticoat lace That shows under fabrics space The satin gowns The stately ground The men so gallant Their pipes cigars so Terribly fragrant The wistful looks As partners booked The orchestral theme At one with being The dance has ended The men retreat To whisky sour The women chatter And rest assured They'll be at the Next grand old fashioned New Years ball © 2017 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Reviews
