salt

salt

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)

salted chips
with fish and lemon
fried in oil
with tartare and lettuce

salted tears
falling down
like unspoken cheers
of hidden fears
of empty years

salted feelings
pent up
bent up false emotion
exploding in
a fist on wall
or plates we made to fall

salty sea
refreshes me
as i walk along those changing tides
ebbing and flowing
with tears in my eyes

salted lies
peppered as well
only do i know
now
that you despised
me for all the while

salty tears
come comfort me now
as i wipe away
i see the lost years
i see the lost fears
i see the sea
i see the shells
i see the sand
i trip and yell
into my silent hell

I never realized salt could describe this many things. It's a nice poem. I think you describe a lot of feelings in this poem that just need to be let out. I hope you're fine now.
