Primary School reunionA Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
Hi Jane she said
To old school chum Standing there with Wrapped bald head Janes mouth was dry Voice raspy quiet Her eyes showed strange Light there Jane had been my closest friend In school days in serge uniforms of pleated prim and plum We'd holidayed together every year And met boys down there As we got older Giggling at that ocean pier Tonight I hugged her tight No words were needed on that night No pity please she said to me Lets party like there is no tomorrow For sorrow is not a word In our fifty year primary school reunion here © 2017 Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)Reviews
