pond at dawnA Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)ponds crackled first light hits ducks come out of hiding the reeds they knew all night have shed their grey protective light now bright green with the early morning sun the little fish go soaring through the once dark waters now so blue the swan it shows off icy white her feathers shimmer in the dawns first light id love to sit and ponder thee to just sit and watch the ponds family the peace the serenity the still waters joy alas I'm not a duck its work I have to do ill see you later my sweet pond and sweet little families when I next come to see sunrise shed its glowful light on thee as I sit under that great gum tree
