writers partyA Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)just imaginejust imagine all of us poets writers in a ballroom sitting there in our stiff and sunday best too shy to come and talk or ask to dance pens and paper left at home dreaming of our pencils and ink no computers tablets nor phones to write or speak on no books to read out of our depth in our sunday best or Saturday at a country dance in our jeans and suede shoes girls in little flouncy skirts and cowboy boots jigging away out of time I would be sitting in corner with a wine beating all the tunes in time with clenched fingers right behind my back wanting to go home and just hit the sack am I so anti social that I cant be in such a usual haystack of people crowds and noises unaware all us writers like our space we sit and write and while away our hours this is our given choice to make
