going to try to attempt a sci fi lol this will be a flop i know but here i go

"
prologue
This is set in the year 2089
space travel to other planets is everyday like going to America or Europe for a holiday or a change of scenery.
chapter one holiday to Saturn.

""Molly dont forget to pack your super zoom eye drops  to take  some super space exciting pictures with your magic blue contact lenses."" said her mother to her daughter as she put in her own sleep eye drops.

The  travel to space speciality chemist had recommended some  "Stay fast asleep for long haul trips to space"" eye drops  for their upcoming long haul flight to Saturn.  She had been on a 4 week holiday to Mars last year and found the weather absolutely gorgeous similar to a tropical island  in Queensland or even Hawaii but she really really  wanted to experience Saturn.

She had read the holiday leaflet that arrived in their high rise flat that night,it had said as it projected on their  interior advertisement junk leaflet wall quite interuptive i may add thought molly she was watching her favourite 1970s re run Lost in Space  and had just eaten her microwavable vintage pop corn with her dear husband John.  She just loved anything vintage. Being born in 2060 she was quite curious as to what people ate back in the old days in the year 2000 and before that even. She had heard they had baked dinners, microwavable popcorn (this she loved) just like her grandmother would of loved back then! and McDonalds and Hungry Jacks and KFC.  They also had lots of frozen conveniene meals as she understood they all worked well women worked and did all the housework.  Housework she had to look up on the intra cellar light digital on her watch. It  said house to meaning abode and work meaning well something she had never tried but was interested in to say the very least. Molly was thinking that she wished she had been born in simpler times like 1970 but alas she missed out on that.  She had found some of her great grandparents old records and cds they called them way back then. How interesting it was, the music was great and she really wished she had been a teenager then.  Well she had certainly been a vintage person in private going to all the old op shops that scattered around the city of Sydney.  After the explosion years ago most of the buildings had been demolished but only the original old buildings from 200 or 300 years ago still stood. That showed the workmanship and the harbour bridge had withstood the explosion and also the opera house.  All the high rises however that the workers had worked in were demolished so the city became a metropole of vintage mixed with space age. Very interesting to say the least.  No one worked anymore money was obsolute due to the space age recession and the govt had sort of crumbled being taken over by the old workers.  Even someone like a vintage garbage collector could get in and run the country now. appalling though molly.

Her son Josh was till overseas in Russia catching the fastest long haul flight to Mars.  Ill ring him but ill let it go and contact him from Saturn thought Molly as she looked in the mirror.  Her face was aglow with an orange tinge from radiation that had landed on the suburbs of Sydney several years ago along with the beforesaid mysterious explosion.  She just grew accostomed to it. She had to work hard with her magic concealing creams (green in colour) and laughed at her funny face and made faces into her ""My My you are beautifulmirror"" aAs she said the words ""you are beutiful the mirror had an inbuilt laser and she put on her mask and whiz whiz whiz the laser did its work and she looked back and was looking like a 20 year old again  well maybe e 35 she reconsidered giggling.  Her daughter didnt need theMy My  you are  beautifu lmirror yet she just needed the "tolerate your annoying parents " injection. This she injected twice daily to combat all the self destructive negativity that her mother projected onto her and her doting over protective dad that watched her like an extinct seagull as she flew in every night in her new  rainbow diamonte hippy space flying vintage  v w bus.  She parked the bus every night after her outings with widget, gidget and sammy.  Her school friends parents didnt dote like her dad and she really needed these twice daily injections to get her through life on a daily basis even hourly basis.

Her ever doting over protective goofy father on the other hand needed the ""let me be me"" injection.  He was having some self doubt problems over his parenting skills and his mid life space crisis. He also used the ""dont let me lose it with my family"" injections and the ""I need some over the top confidence"" injection some times though rarely.
""Ok the long haul space express ship leaves in 2 hours ship shape everyone!"" the dad yelled to his excited family  as he lathered up his face.
He still shaved the vintage way the way he saw in those encylopedias. He didnt much care for a  robot on his knee breathing into his nostrils smelling of oil and gadgetry shaving his delicate white skin.

""Ok all packed everyone? ""He met them at the door.  Wait here ill call a space taxi.  The father rang from his express watch for a space taxi to take him to Sydney Central Railway. It had been converted from Old Central Sydney station into a space station and really had lost that old fashioned feel to it long ago.  The stone building had been replaced with  perspex and steel and a glass dome for the operators of space.  They all walked around like wanna be martians in their green and grey outfits and there were a few robot cleaners to clean the public ammenities.

They got to the station in 5 mins flat and that was a record as there was peak hour traffic down at the opera house for the arrival of the new singer flying in express that night from Europe to do a 24 hours concert to raise money for her country.  Yes Sydney was the space hub o fthe world now.  A[art from New York. New York was great as well.
They boarded their express flight and took their seats. The 3 of them sat comfortably snacking on some
choice vintage tim tams and lemonades followed by a frozen butter chicken from the vintage 2000 collection of microwave meals.

They had chosen this space ship not just because it was a long haul express flight but because it was a spacial vintage edition.  Everything on it had been fitted out vintage from  1970s to 2000 era.  There were Womans Weekly magazines, there was Monopoly and scrabble games, there was everything vintage that they could possibly ask for.  Even paper toilet rolls instead of that hideous wipe that stung that everyone used now. The music would be playing anything from Joan Baez to Cat stevens to Beatles  to Little River Band and Midnight oil.  There would be food fights on the ship, there would be games like pin the tail on the donkey and eye spy and karoake and all sorts of wonderous things. The mother had booked this space ship all because it said Vintage 1970s to 2000.  Seeing the year was now 2089 this would be so great.  She wanted her daughter to experience perhaps what her great and great great grandparents had experienced way back in those days.  The captain finally spoke, and told them welcome aboard.  THey would land in Saturn in approx one day and that was express delivery.  People should stay seated till the crew told them to take off their safety domes. These were glass domes shaped like "get smart"t v show cones of silence. If you wanted to leave them on to avoid your parents or if you wanted to ignore your husband or wife just leave them on but  dont forget to turn on the O2 button or you may expire.  The lunch will be coming around soon so please pull down your trays and enjoy the ride.
This was the last thing they heard as when they took off the eye sleep drops for the long haul flight started to work and they all missed their vintage lunch of baked beans on rye toast with butter and a poached egg.  The  sleep eye drops that the chemist recommended would last 9 hours so they were asleep for 9 hours straight.  When they awoke it was  nearly breakfast time and cranky as. They all got up to  use the toilet but only to be told there would be short stopover for liquid gold refuel from the planet Candy (a new one had been discovered) back in 2059 and it was abundant with pink and purple candy with chocolate galore.  Even the people looked like lollipops. They could all get out and take pictures and buy some candy but dont buy the black candy that means it has carbonised and may kill them if they eat it.
The captain warned them that if they haggled the price the candy would be low quality so best pay full price it was still a bargain at 200 dollars a kilo. (dollars were used in this planet). Thats why they still carried around several thousand just in case.

They all got out when the long haul express space ship landed and they were so happy. They had not eaten any lunch or dinner the  day before and had missed their breakfast due to shortage of supplies.  THis family would now go crazy and buy some candy.  THey haggled, they muggled, they shouted till they got their supply.  For 250 dollars that bought them 3 large bags filled with purple pink candy  and some mint chocolate.  They decided they had a bargain and saat down to eat it at the purple space maze candy bar.  The music was Elvis.  THey looked Elvis up in their mobiles and found that he had been a singer from mid last century and was classed a king of rock n roll.   They loved Elvis. They bought some of his recordings these were downloaded straight away through their magic lens in their eyes and this was transmitted to their phones or watches.  As the beams were sent from their magic download eye lens to their phones or watches they all gave a wiggle and a shake. Apparently Elvis danced like this said the Candy Man behind the counter. He too was dressed like Elvis and had dark sideburns just like his old vintage idol projected on the  sugar coated wall.

Ok time to board the ship again said the captain rounding everyone up. THey all got back into the space ship and went on their way to Saturn.  Next stop.  Hooray said the family. Cannot wait.  They all went back to sleep and waited for landing.  The candy had been so sweet it had affected their sugar levels so badly.  The space hostess came around and injected them as they slept. This was a usual practice for these over indulgent candy lovers.  Its like they had never seen a flippin candy bar from planet Candyland ever.  WHats next she sighed.

Your overactive imagination has done a great job of blending vintage & spaceage! I love the way your story covers both possibilities, which pushes my own imagination further than it usually goes! *wink! wink!* I also very much enjoy your conversational tone thru-out, as if the narrator was completely conversant in vintage or spaceage! Many imaginative ideas sparkle, but when it comes to the new planet named “Candy” . . . I wuz kinda wishing you’d named it “Candy Crush” since this is all the rage it seems (I’ve never played, but lots of people do). Other than that, I found this to be a refreshing cruise thru crazy-town, kinda like some of my poems can be! *smile* Fondly, Margie

I liked it. It flowed well and was interesting. Talking about the further future in time was interesting. And when you spoke about vintage times. Made me laugh. As to me, it was still in the future. But really well used and imagination in your story was fun. Well put together and expressed with such style.
