he waits

about my dog Jake (golden retriever)

big brown sooky eyes

long gold coat

floppy ears

on me he does dote

whiskers neat

some greying age

on eyebrows

a snout so black

a tail that wags

a heart of gold

my jake my boy

i bought you another toy

its not the toy i want

i heard him mutter

tis you my human mother

i love you just like no other

I love all animals. Cats in particular...because we rescued 3 of them and I got to know them well . Any pet if you love and treat them kindly they will return the love in ten fold. I loved your poem, shows how much you love jake and his love for you.

I couldn't ever imagine life without a dog. Even though, as I write this, I'm half off the bed as they lay between my boyfriend and me, taking up as much room as possible but I wouldn't want it any other way!

We currently have 2 boxers. One being a mix and the other full blooded. Colt and Ruger!
