Your symphony girl

Your symphony girl

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)

Let me be
Your symphony girl
Touching notes
You’ve never felt before

In the wings
The audience sighs
Jealousy envy or joy
A green odour musty prevails

I try the piano
The keys flow quick
Effortlessly
Muscle memory

You smile
With pride busting
As you adjust
Your new bow tie

Sitting
Second row
From right
I see you peripheral

What a beautiful composition
You do write
We play well in life
Two instruments

On stage
Off stage
And behind the curtain
And long after encore echoes

Fade
Far
Far away
As we slept afterwards
