After the accident

After the accident

A Poem by Julie McCarthy (juliespenhere)
"

Fiction but my take on dying

"
Awake and conscious
In her minds eye
She saw a dark shadow
Looming
Over her

She felt her bones
Her broken bloody skin
After the crash

She closed her eyes
All she saw was
Colours in circles
Vibrant pulsating

Her brain
Wanted to sleep
So it was either
Stay awake

Make friends with the shadow
Let him work
On her broken body

Or sleep with the
Angels

They were there
Playing a Haarp
Behind that pulsating rainbow

Waiting for her

To arrive

She closed her eyes
Felt that string
On her fingers
In the Haarp

As she learnt
To chase the
Earths darks shadows away

Her bones not broken now
Her skin no blood now

She looked down
Down down down
She was no longer there

All she felt was the vibrating
Haarp and the
Beautiful colours
She was part of

Hi thanks I appreciate hope you are very well !!
Quite a treat, and unexpected. I have not thought that much about death, though I have some knowledge of it, enough to give it as wide a berth as I can. You write some striking imagery that is easily your own, not the reworking of another's voice. I'll try a few others as time permits.

Well, please keep just wondering about it for a long while. Taking "just a peek" can be dangerous.
A haunting and powerful poem capturing the moment between life and death after a traumatic accident. The imagery of the "dark shadow," "pulsating rainbow," and harp music beautifully shows the soul’s release. Moving from pain to transcendence. Unforgettable.
