Life As A Play

Life As A Play

A Poem by junglegymcircus
"

This was my first real poem that broke me open. I wrote it in the Barton Creek mall on my lunch break, wearing a black overcoat, while I was watching shoppers and their habits.

"

It Begins and Ends in a day

As the routine sparkles in our eye,

You just keep on walking bye, and bye...

Rotation continues each ticking clock.

Every single day we mock, and mock...

When did we lose our reality

And confine to THIS morality?

Lines in and Lines out...

As slowly each person starts to shout,

"Condemn, Conform, Confine to me

Or else... Let it be."

I will not give in to the ways that be.

It needs to change!

We shall be free.

I cannot be alone,

There are more like me.

Believe. Believe!

We shall be free!

Panic and fear from a sudden sense of realization.

Trust turns to greed and ruins the civilization.

I have a dream for "this" modernization.

Freedom from socialization.
