Love is My Poor Cat

Love is My Poor Cat

A Poem by Juni Parks
"

"Love seeketh only Self to please, To bind another to Its delight:" William Blake

"

Love is in the alley, in my poor cat
Stirring him, turning him, abandoning a grateful rat

Love is most vicious, in my poor cat
Blinding him, churning in him, readying him for a furious fight

Love is hardly loving, in my poor cat
Pushing him, coaxing his chances with any tabby in sight

Love is November, often December, in my poor cat
Binding him, tying him to conspiring moons in mid-flight

Love is a demon, in my poor cat
Whispering to him, fooling him, making him take first bite

Love is the clown and the fool, in my poor cat
Urging him, propelling him, his claw-less mittens, punching left, punching right
