A Day In The Life: Introvert

I do not usually do poems, but this one hit me out of no where.

Sitting in this two-story house,

Everything as quiet as a mouse.

Scared of the world outside these walls,

An introvert I am, full of flaws.

 

Adventure is not in my skill set,

All I have is myself and my pets.

My only way of escaping my cage,

Is pouring words onto this page.

 

Even though I’m always home,

I also have a job where I am all alone.

I work upstairs usually by myself,

Dancing and singing in private, like a Christmas elf.

 

Hopefully one day I’ll break from this cocoon,

Maybe that day will be sometime soon.

I guess I’ll end this depressing note,

I hope I didn’t upset you with what I have wrote.
