Tears

i cry

My tears fall down to the ground
I don't want to cry
But I do

The tears fall without my permission
I beg them to stay
To not slide down my cheek

I cannot shed these tears in front of him
This person in front of me would love if I cried
It would mean that I can share emotion

My whole life was built upon no emotion
My face was blank through every event
Weddings, funerals, and birthday parties could not escape me

As these thoughts ran through my head
It made my cry harder
Simple tears transforming into sobs

The man that I swore to show no humanity to
Is now pulling me into a hug
Holding my head close to his shoulder

And I let him hold me
We stand, holding each other
It seems to last forever

He knows my pain
He smothers my pain and
He stops my pain

For once everything is complete
Nothing is real anymore
Now my tears are gone

I try out a smile
My new emotion shines
My new boyfiend shines

Together we walk into the distance
Together we smell the flowers
Together we live forever
