All I need is just a modicum

Just before I fall and succumb

One ray of hope and I’m gone

The decision I make will be done

 

If you really feel what you feel

I’ll simply accept that’s real

Just going to cry later bout our deal

Knowing I just can’t cut the bill

 

Before you say the truth finally

And we part ways eternally

I want to say you changed me

Then I will say good bye gravely

I don't know what came to me, I just wrote. Since I learned about a new word 'modicum' I wanted to use it and this came out. Another good bye poem dears. Sorry if you're getting tired of these lately .... sigh

You could lean toward a

"Hello..."

A quiet, simple, perhaps a bit shy...
the momentary glance,
of wonder - a why-not
pause instead of walking by.

A modicum of such real
yet thought-full, teasing smiles
as the eyes glisten
and you remember how to breathe
again...

Seems we all have our "goodbyes" inside leaking out but sometimes "Hello's" are really just waiting to be let in.
