Words

A Poem by P. Kapper

These words

They have escaped me

They have troubled me

They have confounded me

But they owe me

Owe me gratitude

They’ve cost me so much

They’ve hurt others

They’ve hurt me

My pen is poison

Coursing through my veins

It infiltrates my heart

And wraps around my brain

And suddenly I’m here

Held hostage by my mind

Why do I do it?

Because

I know no other way

No other means

My tongue is tied

My mouth is useless

Words get devoured

I speak through hands

Connected to my heart

But who am I speaking to?

I know the feeling of being held hostage by your words. They get trapped in my mind and refuse to pour out sometimes. LOL...This is a very good poem....flows well.
