Beautiful Cleansing

Beautiful Cleansing

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin

Beautiful cleansing

How beautiful grief’s cleansing,

Tears from deep sorrow.

But where do these soul drops come,

This great weeping?

God you are more spacious then deep blue of sky’s expanse.

A great storehouse is this Blanket cocoon of our Great Creator’s earth.

How beautiful; human depths filled with new understanding.

Will our own life song claim beautiful lessons within our tears?

Our tears are yours Holy God;

We can only cry as little children

-  In times of helplessness, we are as little lambs.

You hold us and our hearts.

We are yours after all; for nothing is hidden from your knowledge.

As the psalmist says darkness and light are both alike to thee.

Psalm 139:12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee;

but the  night shineth as the day:

 the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

                          You are our place of rest and safety in every place of pain as well as joy.

When you can reach a place of pure sacrifuce and repentance, pleading and crying for God to take over and wash you clean and place all in the altar- that’s where the tears of cleansing clean your spirit and soul- Hod needs to have full control- we are nothing without Him- wonderful words🌹

Well put, Kathy. The world seems to be leaning on its axis.
We seem to be a nation that never stops. News is pumped in 24 hours a day.
Relaxation is for dead.
It's not surprising the human gasket is blowing all over the place.
Your last line makes total sense.

I had to look & see when you wrote this . . . it's so perfect for the day after yet another school shooting! I do believe that grief is a cleansing journey & you've painted that sensation perfectly here. As always, I love the way you present your Christianity in an approachable way, never the least bit preachy, but always friendly & warm & uplifting (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

oh the weeping .... :( really appreciate this expression of a loving and caring God/Creator .. i especially like this line:
"A great storehouse is this Blanket cocoon of our Great Creator’s earth." love it!! ;) reading your poem brings me peace and comfort ... and the appreciation for this kind of weeping .. it comes from nowhere seemingly ...but absolutely turns one to thoughts of God ... this would be a good time for me to sign off the Cafe ..with positive thoughts and feelings and memories .. but it has been so difficult for this site to stay operating i fear i must take full advantage before i am exited from it once again ;{
