Starry Host

Starry Host

A Poem by Kathy Van Kurin
"

Ponderings of life, of hope.

"

Starry Host

Through highest heaven, night is held a bowl of light.

This jubilant joy may catch us unawares

Sweet orb lantern rising within blazing star palette.

Stand at attention Majesty Music of the spheres

Shy? But no, they meet my eyes in perfect time flight.

No apology. In witness, my vision meets heavenly tiers.

This soul is vulnerably exposed by beauteous firmament.

Mortal, this inner light will burn out in days and tears.

Time races, forward, measure by measure, passed to present.

Then as now from arrested attention still new with years.

Jealous of the heavens within humanity I sometime regret.

Let us flee modernity into gift of Starry host glorious jewels.

When the heart has been dull each glory twinkles a new event.

Reminding with clues, God’s own to infuse

Flee dull heaviness to a place of child’s wonderment.

Breathe deep late night aire.

Your words offer the clues or ingredients to a place of vast light, of a safe destination that might take time to reach but if has the greatest gift at its journey. Start to finish you took this reader into a place of what would be a welcome haven: where celestial arms hold, palms touch and light feeds the spirit. Beautiful and finely created and laid, Kathy.

Dear Kathy
Stunning portrayal of the cosmos, the heavens that light and enlighten no matter what stage or moment in one’s life; time seems to pass quickly… one can reflect as we observe the heavenly night show; soon we cannot see it anymore, ,yet as long as we’ve enjoyed it this long , perhaps our end will be worth all the beauty of the sky in all the years gone by. Beautiful!
Warmly, B

A bowl of precious starlight....such a lovely way to think of one of nature's wonders. The innocence of youth is something we should all try to keep as we grow older. That innocence can teach us so much. A beautifully written inspirational message here. Lydi**
