New SnowfallA Poem by Kathy Van KurinWinter wonder with coffeeNew Snowfall Crystal
winds in bright snow whirl winds. Like arrows
Fir tree spires point to the heavens. Every
feathery bough gives itself away in its own unique dance. Below zero
and precious song birds are quiet. Hidden,
they wait within dormancy. Frog chorus still. Spring
waits its turn. Winter knows it reigns. Morning peace
hangs within heart beat interlude of cool mist mystery. Voices
muffle here inside this Coffee house retreat midst little village. Generators
keep the lights on. Sky lantern looks through cloud window. It is time
to live, to breathe, and to work. Life
is worked; given, shared. I claim
this beginning fresh. In new snowfall
Douglas Firs point to heaven. © 2025 Kathy Van KurinAuthor's Note
